Is Aweber the Right Email Marketing Solution for You in 2019?
Find Out in My Review…
It was a dismal failure…
You’re reading this Aweber review because you already know how important email marketing is for your business (and any other business with an online presence).
Pretty much everybody looking for an autoresponder has heard of Aweber.
So, you’re probably wondering if they are the right email marketing solution for you, and if it will really become a driving force in your business and help you to join the ranks of others who are successfully generating revenue from emails.
The short answer is yes, especially if you’re the looking for an autoresponder that:
- Is easy to use… even for beginners
- Provides excellent inbox deliverability
- Is Reliable
- Works smoothly
In this review I’m going to quickly go through some of the features, but mostly I want to talk about how it’s benefited me compared to some of the other Aweber alternatives that I’ve tried.
Overview of Aweber Communications
What is Aweber used for?
Aweber was always known and used primarily for their excellent autoresponder feature.
However, they have steadily upped their game with their other offerings and have firmly established themselves as a solid email marketing platform that caters to small businesses, entrepreneurs and affiliate marketers.
They’ve been around since 1998 and have enjoyed consistent success and customer retention over the years.
Why is this important?
Well, when you’re shopping around for an online solution that’s crucial to the success of your business, like email marketing or web hosting, you must make sure you’re using a company that’s been around for at least a few years.
This ensures that they have the necessary experience to handle any potential issues that often crop up with digital services.
I’ve had my fair share of frustrations dealing with crippling issues from inexperienced service providers. I’ve had a website that was down for over a week, and no way to contact the hosting providers support because their email server was also down. To trying one of Aweber’s competitors that wouldn’t send out the first email in a series due to an apparently ‘unfixable’ bug.
Fortunately, I haven’t had any issues with Aweber over the years (I haven’t even needed to contact their support… yet).
Which is why I recommend sticking to a tried and tested provider.
Aweber Pricing Plans
If you’re wondering about Aweber’s pricing over 25000?
Last I checked (a very long time ago, so don’t quote me on this), you will pay an additional $8 for every extra 1000 subscribers once you’ve hit 25 001.
Other than that, the pricing is pretty much self-explanatory.
Aweber isn’t the cheapest, but they also aren’t expensive. And, for all the features they provide, as well as their consistent level of reliable service, I feel that Aweber is excellent value for money.
Main Aweber Features
- Email newsletters
- Email automation
- Drag n drop editor
- Html templates
- Autoresponder follow ups
- Rss to email
- Email api
- Aweber Mobile apps
- Sign up forms
- Customer service
- Subscriber management
- Subscriber segmenting
- Email deliverability
- Email tracking
Instead of boring you with generic descriptions of these features, I want to rather talk about how I’ve benefited from using Aweber specifically, and why I’m still a happy customer.
How Aweber has helped my business
Probably the most important feature of any email solution. Deliverability will make or break your email marketing efforts.
You might have the most well-written, high converting email copy. But, if those mails aren’t hitting the inbox and are going directly to your readers spam then they’re useless. They won’t be read, which means they won’t be generating you any sales.
With Aweber, I’ve had great deliverability, with most of my emails hitting my readers inbox without a problem.
I only remember having an issue once. One of my confirmation mails were being flagged as spam in Gmail. After tweaking my subject line, everything was back to normal. This was more an issue with my copy, rather than being a problem on Aweber’s side.
The excellent inbox delivery is one of the major reasons why I’ve stayed loyal to Aweber over the years.
Another major reason why I love Aweber is that it works smoothly. Once a campaign is setup, you can be confident that it will continue to work for you without any bugs or issues.
As I mentioned earlier in this review, I’ve ran into some pretty bad bugs with some of the other autoresponder companies I’ve tried out. I’ve even experienced similar frustrations with a few of the large, well-known providers as well.
Thankfully with Aweber, it’s been relatively smooth sailing so far.
Ease of Use
I mentioned at the start of the review that Aweber was the very first autoresponder that I used. Back then I had no clue what I was doing. I just heard everybody always saying
“the money’s in the list”
“email marketing is king”
So, I went ahead and signed up for a free trial with Aweber.
With a few visits to Aweber’s help section, I was able to create my first campaign without any hassles.
Their help section is comprehensive, and they even have a getting started video to show you exactly how to setup your first campaign.
Aweber is very beginner-friendly and setting up your campaigns is fairly straightforward. The more you use it, the easier it gets. This ease of use has really allowed me to save time by making my campaign setup much quicker and more efficient.
The reason why the deliverability, reliability and ease of use has made the biggest difference to me is because it’s allowed me to focus on growing my business.
Having a working, high quality email marketing solution is vital because it gives me the confidence to not always have to worry about going back to fix things in the autoresponder setup which can mess up a campaign.
And this is where some of Aweber’s competitors fall short.
The ones with poor deliverability shouldn’t even be considered.
While the ones with frequent bugs will lead to a frustrating amount of time spent going back to troubleshoot issues and the need to constantly monitor all your campaigns just in case something goes wrong.
No autoresponder is perfect, and Aweber is no exception.
They obviously do have their flaws even though I’ve been fortunate enough not to have experienced any. So, I’ll use this section to talk about some of the things other users have had an issue with.
A few users have complained that Aweber’s pricing is too high.
If you do a direct Aweber vs Getresponse comparison…
It’s $19/month for your first 500 subscribers. Getresponse on the other hand is considered one of the more budget-friendly autoresponders and comes in only $4 cheaper at $15/month.
Besides, at $19/month, you’re looking at paying only around $0.04c per subscriber. And you can send out as many emails as you want.
Minor issue aside, with Aweber you can expect to experience a fairly smooth, long-term solution to your email marketing. Most importantly, you’ll enjoy high deliverability provided you aren’t stuffing your emails with spammy words.
Besides being very easy to use, Aweber also has one of the best help resources I’ve seen from an email marketing provider just in case you’re struggling. As well as providing detailed lessons to help you master email marketing and see a significant improvement in your results.
Although there is no official Aweber promo code, I highly recommend that you take advantage of their free trial here.
It’s better to see, and experience Aweber for yourself than to just read different reviews.
Verdict: Is Aweber Worth it?
After my early failures at email marketing, I slowly got better at writing emails and building funnels. And, as I started to improve, so did my success with emails. Throughout this process, I stuck it out with Aweber. And I’m happy to say, I’m still signed up with them today.
Well, Aweber was working perfectly. The problem was in my own inability to market effectively through email.
There are of course many email marketing providers similar to Aweber.
However, if you’re looking for an autoresponder that’s efficient, reliable and does exactly what it’s meant to do… Automate and streamline your email marketing.
Then, Aweber is definitely my recommended choice.
